Santos FC: is it already the end for Neymar Jr.?

Neymar JrBrazilian collapsed, visibly affected in the same left knee.

On the evening of Friday, April 18, Santos FC shared news about their player. Already hindered by a series of injuries since his return to the country, Neymar Jr.'s adventure with Santos is once again on hold, this time for an extended period.

"After recovering from a muscle injury and continuing to train to build muscle mass, Neymar Jr. returned to matches and during the first half of Santos FC's victory against Atlético MG, he felt new discomfort in the left thigh. He underwent imaging tests and a new injury was confirmed, this time to the semimembranosus muscle. The Peixe's number 10 has already begun his treatment and, unlike the previous injury to another muscle, he did not have a relapse," his club informed.

However, the club did not specify the exact duration of Neymar Jr.'s unavailability. It is possible that the former Parisian will be away from the field for a long time.

"In parallel, the player will continue a muscle strengthening program, always aiming to achieve better muscle mass indices to prevent new injuries. He will be periodically reassessed for follow-up and new treatment definitions. We knew these incidents could occur due to downtime. It was decided, in collaboration with the technical staff and the athlete himself, that this recovery work will continue and, if necessary, new approaches will be adopted to reach the ideal values for his return to the playing fields," Santos FC concluded.
