Sevilla FC: End of season for Akor Adams
The Nigerian forward Akor Adams sees his first season with Sevilla FC cut short due to a muscle injury sustained during the match against Atlético de Madrid.
Starting against Atlético de Madrid on Sunday, April 6 during the 30th round of La Liga, Akor Adams played the entire match with Sevilla FC. This delighted the Andalusian club's supporters, as for the first time since his return from a thigh injury, the Nigerian player was on the pitch for 90 minutes. However, it turns out that the former Montpellier striker felt discomfort during this duel at Sánchez Pizjuán.
In an official statement released on April 8, Sevilla FC informed its public about the physical condition of the 25-year-old Nigerian.
“The club's medical team can confirm that Akor Adams sustained a hamstring injury during the last match against Atlético de Madrid. The Nigerian forward will begin the recovery process on Wednesday,” it read.
This announcement comes as a hammer blow for Adams, who had just returned to the field after a month-long absence. Arriving in January 2025 from Montpellier for a fee of 5.5 million euros, Akor Adams was tasked with strengthening Sevilla's attack. Unfortunately, his integration is hindered by physical setbacks.
