Spain: Luis de la Fuente responds to Deschamps over refereeing

At the final whistle of Tuesday's semi-final between France and Spain (0-2), Didier Deschamps lamented several refereeing decisions. Luis de la Fuente does not share the same opinion.

In the post-match press conference, La Roja's boss, Spanish head coach Luis de la Fuente, responded to the French manager.

"When the result slips away from you, you often look for excuses... We also had tough moments with the refereeing, like against Uruguay. It's just the referees' desire to let the game flow. If Deschamps really said that, both teams were refereed the same way. I don't believe the referee favored either side. He even disallowed one of our goals for offside. But honestly, I don't think about the officiating," fired back the Spanish coach.
