In a recent statement, Stade Rennais sporting director Loic Désiré has sealed the future of Senegalese international defender Mikayil Faye.

Mikayil Ngor Faye already knows his fate for this summer transfer window. According to several media outlets, the Senegal international was listed among potential departures this summer. But fresh news has just emerged regarding Mikayil Faye's future. As reported by L’Equipe, Stade Rennais' position is now clear.

The Senegalese talent will remain at Stade Rennais next season. This comes despite the difficult spell the defender has endured in Rennes since arriving from FC Barcelona.

The Lion of Teranga is not part of coach Habib Beye’s plans, yet he will stay at Roazhon Park this summer. He is expected to get more playing time next season to continue his development. Unless there’s a dramatic turn of events, Mikayil Faye will be seen in the red and black shirt again next season.

Adapting to Ligue 1 has indeed been a real challenge for the Senegalese player. Facing stiff competition, Mikayil Ngor Faye has had to settle for a substitute role. He made 12 appearances for Stade Rennais this season.
