Three African giants are lining up to sign Moctar Cissé
According to press reports, several big African clubs want to sign Stade Malien de Bamako's star striker Moctar Cissé, the top scorer in the Malian Football League.
Other press reports revealed that Young Africans SC have taken the initiative to sign the young Malian striker and have officially entered negotiations, and although the Tanzanian club is dominant in the Tanzanian league, they want to strengthen their attacking line for continental competition, especially the CAF Champions League.
According to press reports, the negotiations are still ongoing and the Tanzanian team seems to be holding on to the negotiations.
Young Africans SC is not the only club that wants to sign the young striker.
Although Young Africans have taken the initiative to sign the player, he is expected to face strong competition from another Tanzanian club, Azam FC, who are also looking to strengthen their ranks for the upcoming season.
Congolese giants TP Mazembe are the third club that wants to sign the player as well, so the market is expected to be highly competitive, especially in the current summer market.
As the January transfer window heats up, top clubs across Africa are scrambling to secure game-changing signings—and Mali’s rising sensation Moussa Cissé has become the continent’s most wanted man.
The 24-year-old striker is coming off a stunning first half of the season, racking up 14 goals and 7 assists—a stat line that has European and African giants alike lining up for his signature. His clinical finishing and playmaking flair make him the complete modern forward, perfectly timed for a winter move.
But Cissé isn’t just chasing a transfer—he’s chasing history. Currently leading the race for the Mali Football Awards’ Golden Boot, he could cap off a dream campaign with individual glory, further skyrocketing his market value.
