Transfer: Kwame Poku signs with London club QPR
Kwame Poku

The London club QPR has secured the services of Ghanaian midfielder Kwame Poku. The player joins from Peterborough United.

At just 23 years old, the former Colchester United player arrives boasting considerable experience and a drive to take his career to the next level. With more than 220 professional appearances under his belt, Poku brings a maturity that belies his age. "I think it was a necessary journey to get here," he stated.

His transfer is the result of a well-thought-out decision, shaped by a pivotal conversation with new head coach Julien Stéphan. The manager's vision played a decisive role in Poku’s commitment, as he was drawn to the prospect of joining a team where his potential for growth is fully recognized. "He spoke about the role he saw for me and how he believed I could influence the game. That’s what really attracted me," Poku admitted.

Despite interest from foreign clubs and sides with greater financial resources, Poku opted for QPR. CEO Christian Nourry hailed the decision as a testament to the strength and relevance of the club’s sporting project.
