Transfer Market: Nottingham Forest moves forward with Osayi-Samuel deal
Nottingham Forest is actively negotiating with Bright Osayi-Samuel for a transfer to the Premier League. A pre-contract is reportedly already in place with the Nigerian winger from Fenerbahçe.
After refusing to extend his contract with Fenerbahçe, which expires in June 2025, Osayi-Samuel was rumored to be leaving this winter. Fulham had shown interest in Osayi-Samuel, but the Turkish club rejected their offer. Coach José Mourinho opposed the transfer of the Nigerian defender, wishing to keep the player for the Europa League. However, it seems likely that the 27-year-old may indeed move to England this summer.
According to sources close to the matter, Nottingham Forest has already established a pre-contract with the player, although no definitive agreement has been formalized. The financial details and contract duration remain to be finalized. Discussions continue between the two parties. The Tricky Trees seem determined to conclude the operation during the summer transfer window.
Having not sold the Super Eagles defender in January, Fenerbahçe will see Bright Osayi-Samuel leave for free in June 2025. He currently has 29 appearances with the Turkish club across all competitions.
