Transfer window: RC Lens moves in on Yehvann Diouf
RC Lens is actively negotiating with Stade de Reims to secure the services of Yehvann Diouf. The Senegal international goalkeeper, who delivered a remarkable season despite his club’s relegation to Ligue 2, is reportedly the Sang et Or’s top choice to replace Brice Samba.
RC Lens has launched an all-out push in the transfer market to strengthen its goalkeeping department. After finishing eighth in Ligue 1 and missing out on European qualification, the Lens side is eager to start afresh. The goalkeeper position is among their top priorities. Since Samba’s departure last winter, the Artois management has struggled to bring stability to this area, rotating between several profiles without finding the ideal solution.
Yehvann Diouf, the sensational Reims revelation of this Ligue 1 season
According to sources close to the talks, the Sang et Or have entered into discussions with Reims in recent days. Yehvann Diouf, under contract with Reims until 2027, is the number one target for Lens’ recruitment team. The northern club has already made contact with the Champagne club’s directors to negotiate a transfer. Reims, relegated to Ligue 2 after seven seasons in the top flight, is open to selling their goalkeeper, especially as the Senegalese shot-stopper also appears interested in the Artois club’s project.
At 25, Yehvann Diouf already boasts solid Ligue 1 experience, having impressed with his reflexes on the line and his ability to instill confidence in his back line. During the 2024-2025 season with Reims, he started all 34 league matches, recording 7 clean sheets. Notably, he showcased his talent against PSG in January and versus RCL on April 11, making 14 saves (100%). He has established himself as one of the league’s standout goalkeepers, despite his team’s relegation.
