UFOA B U20: Burkina Faso gets their tournament off to a strong start with 3-1 win over Togo
Burkina Faso makes a successful debut. The U20 Stallions clinched their opening Group B match of the WAFU-B qualifying tournament for the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations by outclassing Togo 3-1 this Monday in Yamoussoukro.
This victory launches the Burkinabè campaign in style. Three scorers to ignite the Stallions: Burkina Faso showed no nerves. Mohamed Zongo quickly opened the scoring before Togo answered back.
Séverin Komi Enouwouklo immediately put Burkina Faso back in front. Narcisse Abdoul Kabir Ouédraogo then extended the lead to seal a 3-1 victory over the Sparrowhawks. Solid and clinical, the U20 Stallions claim the first 3 points in the group and send a clear message to their rivals.
Nigeria impresses as well
In the group’s other fixture, Nigeria also made a statement. The Flying Eagles outclassed Ghana 4-2 in a goal-filled encounter. With this electric start, Burkina Faso positions itself well in the race for a U20 AFCON berth. Next objective: confirm their form in the upcoming match against Ghana.
