Victor Osimhen: "Not playing in this World Cup hurts me"

While the biggest footballing nations battle it out at the 2026 World Cup, Victor Osimhen is left watching the tournament from the sidelines. It's a situation that the Nigerian striker is finding incredibly frustrating.

The forward admitted that Nigeria's absence from the global showcase remains a massive disappointment for the entire squad. Despite the squad's potential, the Super Eagles failed to secure their ticket, missing another chance to represent their country on football's grandest stage. Osimhen believes this setback is especially painful for several players of his generation:

I feel bad about not playing in the World Cup. It's the second time in a row. I was talking to the other guys and they feel the same way, but we move on.

Unable to take the field in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, Osimhen now hopes the Super Eagles can learn from this failure and quickly reclaim their place among football's elite.
