Real Madrid started their away clash against Real Betis in spectacular fashion with Moroccan star Brahim Diaz netting early goal in La Liga on Saturday.

The goal came just 10 minute into the match following beautiful sequence of quick passes. Kylian Mbappe showcased his trademark skill before brilliantly setting up Ferland Mendy.

Instead of taking shot from tight angle, Mendy delivered pinpoint cross to Diaz who calmly slotted the ball into the net.

Record Breaking Build Up

According to Opta, Real Madrid's goal involved 19 pass, marking the highest number of consecutive passes leading to goal in away match during the 2024 /25 La Liga season. Interestingly the goal was executed in the tiki taka style often associated with Barcelona.

Mendy’s Rare Assist

The assist from Ferland Mendy was his 1st of the entire season, making it rare moment for the French full back. Even more remarkably, this was his 1st assist for Real Madrid since October 2022.

The last time Mendy assisted goal was in Real Madrid’s 3 - 1 win over Barcelona on 16 October 2022 when he set up Federico Valverde at the Santiago Bernabeu.
