(Video) Silence Broken: Mostafa Mohamed finds the net again for Nantes
Egypt striker Mostafa Mohamed returned to the scoresheet on Sunday 19 April scoring early in Nantes’ Ligue 1 clash against Brest to end a long goal drought that stretched back to January.
The 28 year old opened the scoring in the 9 minute giving his side a crucial advantage in Round 30 of the French top flight.
Early breakthrough ends long wait
Mohamed wasted little time making impact finding the net inside the opening ten minutes to hand Nantes control of the match. The goal marked his first since 25 January when he scored against Nice ending a difficult spell in front of goal.
His return to scoring form comes at an important moment for Nantes as they look to secure points in the closing stages of the season.
Season numbers and scoring record
The Egyptian forward now has 4 goal in Ligue 1 this season having previously scored against Auxerre, Monaco & Nice before adding Brest to that list.
Across all competitions with Nantes, Mohamed has now contributed 29 goal and 8 assist including 25 goal in Ligue 1 since joining the club.
Mohamed played 77 minute before being replaced by Matthis Abline having completed disciplined performance leading the line.
The striker remains under contract with Nantes until June 2027 after initially joining on loan from Galatasaray in July 2022 before the move was made permanent a year later.
