Rumors have been swirling in recent hours about a possible interest from Al Ahly SC in signing Mohamed Elneny, currently at Al Jazira Club. This move is reportedly being considered as a potential replacement should Malian midfielder Aliou Dieng leave at the end of the current season.

Elneny to replace Dieng? Al Ahly delivers a clear answer

According to a source within the Cairo club, the reports circulated by some media are nothing more than pure speculation. No talks or official contact have been initiated with Mohamed Elneny at this stage.

The same source, quoted by Youm7, clarified that management has yet to make any decisions regarding a potential midfield reinforcement, as the club remains fully focused on its sporting objectives.

They also emphasized that any transfer market decisions will depend on how the Aliou Dieng situation develops. As of now, no official approach has been made, whether for a local or foreign player.

Finally, Al Ahly is expected to welcome back three midfielders at the end of the season: Reda Slim, on loan at National Bank of Egypt SC, Omar El Saai, loaned to Al Masry SC, and Ahmed Khaled Kabaka, currently at ZED FC on loan.
