It's official: the young dual-national defender Willy Kambwala Ndengushi will don the "Leopards" jersey.

Here are 5 things to know about the latest sensation joining the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) national team.

  • He joined Manchester United's academy in 2020 after stints in France with Elan Chevilly Larue (2012-2013), CO Les Ulis (2013-2018), and FC Sochaux (2018-2020).
  • He made just 10 appearances for the Red Devils' first team, without scoring or providing an assist.
  • He joined Villarreal in the summer 2024 transfer window for a hefty sum of 10 million euros, more than double his market value.
  • He featured in 21 matches for the Yellow Submarine during the 2024-2025 season, without scoring or providing any assists.
  • He previously represented France at U16 and U20 levels.
