Griezmann scored his team's second goal in the 35th minute with a composed left-footed strike from outside the box that found the top corner.
The former Atlético de Madrid player has thus taken his tally to 14 goals and 7 assists since joining Orlando last July, for 22 goal contributions in 20 matches.
However, Chicago Fire, where Robert Lewandowski plays, came back in the second half. Jonathan Bamba pulled one back with a header in the 57th minute before setting up the equalizer for Maren Haile-Selassie in the 69th minute.
With two matches still to play before the end of the regular season, Orlando City must pick up additional points to secure qualification for the playoffs.
