Argentine star Lionel Messi (39) shone in his team’s match, Inter Miami, against hosts Atlanta United, played last Saturday evening as part of the current season of Major League Soccer « MLS ».

The “pink and black” side beat Atlanta United by three goals to one (3-1), continuing their positive results and strengthening their second-place position in the Eastern Conference, behind leaders Nashville.

The football legend needed just four minutes to score twice, taking his tally to 25 goals at the top of the goalscoring chart, five ahead of Croatia’s Petar Musa.

Messi’s numbers against Atlanta United

The former Argentina captain received a perfect rating of 10 out of 10 from the “Sofascore” platform after delivering an outstanding performance in attacking and creative areas.

Messi attempted five shots, four of which were on target, and completed 37 of 44 passes, with an accuracy rate of 84%.

He also completed all 15 of his passes in the opposition half, as well as six of his seven attempted long passes.

The 39-year-old’s impact was not limited to goals and passes: he completed three of four dribbles, touched the ball 63 times and covered 223.4 metres carrying the ball forward. He also won the ball back three times, won five ground duels and one aerial duel.
