Ex-Kaizer Chiefs captain Yusuf Maart bags assist in Europe
Former Kaizer Chiefs captain Yusuf Maart provided an assist as SV Ried beat Ausria Wien 3-2 in the Austrian Bundesliga on Saturday.
The 31-year-old dynamo set-up left-back Philipp Pomer in the 28th minute, helping his team to restore the lead as the score was deadlocked at 1-1.
Ried climbed to fourth place on the table, having accumulated 14 points in nine outings, and trail log leaders Rapid Wien with 10 points.
Maart, meanwhile, took his tally to four assists in 11 appearances across all competitions this season - a testament to his influence in the heart of midfield.
He recently signed a new deal at Ried, extending his stay in Austria to June 2028, having joined the club in July 2025 from Chiefs.
On the other hand, his compatriot, Jaedin Rhodes, has made a good impression at Ried, playing 66 minutes in the win over Wien.
The speedy winger has laid four assists in seven games across all competitions, despite missing three matches due to an abductor pain in August.
With Ried set to visit Stum Graz in their next league outing, the South African pair will be looking to maintain their fine performances.
