Wolverhampton: Tolu Arokodare pushed to the exit after internal incident
The future of Tolu Arokodare at Wolverhampton Wanderers appears increasingly uncertain. According to talkSPORT, the Nigerian striker could be set to leave the club as early as the upcoming summer transfer window, following an incident that took place in the dressing room.
It all began after the heavy 4-0 defeat to West Ham United at the London Stadium on April 10. Frustration and tension quickly boiled over post-match, leading to a heated exchange between Arokodare and his young teammate Mateus Mané.
The situation reportedly escalated into a physical altercation, with Arokodare identified as the sole aggressor. The club has since taken disciplinary action, handing the player a fine.
Sporting exclusion
Since that incident, the Nigerian international has been sidelined. Left on the bench during the 3-0 loss to Leeds United at Elland Road, he is no longer part of the immediate plans of the coaching staff.
Signed last summer from KRC Genk for around £23 million, Arokodare was originally tied to the club until 2029. Yet despite this long-term contract, his stint at Molineux could come to a premature end.
On the pitch, the numbers tell a mixed story: just three goals in 28 Premier League appearances this season. His last goal came during the 2-2 draw with Brentford FC in March.
