Belgium outclassed the United States in the Round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup.

Belgium also scored a win on social media. Just minutes after their emphatic 4-1 victory, the Red Devils took a playful jab at their American opponents with a post that quickly went viral.

On its official account, the Belgian team borrowed a well-known phrase from across the Atlantic, writing: “It’s called soccer football”, meaning: “we call it football”. It's a humorous reminder that, in most of the world, the sport is called "football", unlike in the United States, where the term "soccer" prevails.
