Belgium has advanced to the quarter-finals of the World Cup, but Thibaut Courtois hasn't forgotten the path they took. After a commanding 4-1 victory in the Round of 16, the Red Devils' goalkeeper made a statement that sparked plenty of debate.

He said: "I read that (... the Balogun case) and it makes me smile. I understand that they want to promote their national team, but today I felt more confident about winning than I did against Senegal, who are a better team than the United States."

In the Round of 16, Belgium had already faced the Lions of Teranga. Trailing 2-0 until the 85th minute, the Red Devils staged a dramatic comeback to clinch the victory.
