World Cup 2026: Haaland's father opens the door to Real Madrid
Interview
Erling Haaland was one of the key architects of Norway's victory over Brazil at the 2026 World Cup. Scoring a brace, the Manchester City striker propelled his team into the quarterfinals.
After the match, all eyes turned to his father, Alf-Inge Haaland, who was asked by DAZN about a possible move to Real Madrid. Smiling, he answered cautiously but did not entirely close the door:
Erling at Real Madrid? He’s under contract and happy at Manchester. But you know… everyone wants to play for Real Madrid and win the Champions League.
He also added that nothing is impossible in football and that the big Spanish clubs always remain an option for top players. Despite these statements, a transfer for the Norwegian doesn’t seem imminent. Erling Haaland is still committed to Manchester City and remains fully focused on the World Cup.
