World Cup 2026 qualifiers: Algeria targets English U-17 international

Algeria continues to scout dual-national gems in preparation for upcoming competitions, particularly the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The latest target of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) is none other than Dean Benamar, the young left-back from Crystal Palace.

Currently playing with the England U-17 national team, Benamar is still eligible to switch his sporting nationality, in accordance with FIFA regulations.

Having made a strong impression with Palace's youth teams, the young defender was recently promoted to the first team.

Dean Benamar's season in numbers

Across 18 matches in all competitions this season, he has scored one goal and provided three assists.

With the England U-17s, he has featured in four matches, registering one assist.
