Several media reports suggested he had decided to close the "Atlas Lions" chapter following his non-selection for the upcoming international break.

This rumor turned out to be unfounded according to sources from the Moroccan sports journal almountakhab, which is known for its close ties with the Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).

According to the same source, Hakim Ziyech seems more determined than ever to regain his top physical form to be present with the "Atlas Lions" during the FIFA Day in June, which will notably feature a friendly derby against Tunisia.

As a reminder, the former Ajax Amsterdam player is currently with Qatari club Al-Duhail SC after terminating his contract with Turkey's Galatasaray.

Ziyech's Record with Morocco

International since 2015, the Dronten native has participated in 64 matches with the Atlas Lions, scoring 25 goals and providing 12 assists.
