Wassim Slama is on the verge of becoming an “Eagle of Carthage.” The young Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is in advanced talks with the Tunisian Football Federation to strengthen the ranks of the Tunisian national team.

Born in 2008 in France, Slama holds dual nationality but is leaning toward Tunisia. At just 16 years old, he received a call-up from Luis Enrique to join the senior squad for a Ligue 1 match late last season against Montpellier.

Although he didn't make an appearance in that match, it was a testament to his talent and the high regard in which he is held as a top prospect at PSG. In the meantime, he continues to impress with the U19s, having scored 3 goals in 5 matches.

As part of its efforts to bolster the squad with dual nationals capable of making a difference, the FTF has already announced it has secured an agreement with Moutaz Neffati (IFK Norrköping) to play for the Tunisian national team, while awaiting the green light from Ismaël Gharbi (SC Braga), who is also widely expected to be available to Sami Trabelsi for the next international break.
