🔴 CAF's XXL boost for its representatives at the Club World Cup!

Al Ahly (Egypt), Espérance Sportive de Tunis (Tunisia), Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), and Wydad Casablanca (Morocco) have secured their tickets to participate in the upcoming Club World Cup, in its new format, scheduled for the summer of 2025 in the United States.

An "honorable" initiative by CAF to support African representatives!

In a motivating and symbolically strong move, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) is considering providing financial support to the four African clubs qualified for the Club World Cup, with the aim of enabling them to prepare under the best possible conditions and to ensure a worthy representation of African football on the global stage.

According to Egyptian journalist Mohamed Said, who is close to the inner workings of CAF, the continental body plans to include on the agenda of its next Executive Committee meeting a point concerning the financial support mechanism for the concerned clubs.

Ghanaian journalist Micky Junior also mentioned this topic via his official account on the social network X, indicating that CAF could provide financial assistance of up to 2 million dollars to each club (Al Ahly, Wydad, Sundowns, and Espérance) before the start of the world tournament.

The CAF Executive Committee meeting, initially scheduled for April 17, will finally be held on April 26 in the Ghanaian capital, Accra.

Ahmed Yahya: "We appreciate the role of clubs in promoting African football"

In the same context, the interim president of CAF and member of the FIFA and CAF Executive Committee, Mauritanian Ahmed Yahya, confirmed this information during a televised statement: "CAF fully recognizes the efforts made by clubs during their international participations to elevate the level of African football. We are actively working on the development of football on the continent, particularly through club competitions."

He added: "We are currently working to accelerate the implementation of VAR technology from the group stage of African competitions, so that it can be applied from next season, or at the latest, the following one."
