The quarter-final phase of the Africa Cup of Nations, CAN U17, has delivered its verdict: the four semi-finalists are now known, and the spectacle promises to be thrilling.
The latest qualifier, Mali, snatched its place in the final four after a thrilling battle against Tunisia. After a fiercely contested match that ended in a 1-1 draw, the Eagles held their nerve in an endless penalty shootout, which they won 10-9.

On the other side of the bracket, Ivory Coast pulled off a minor upset by eliminating the defending champions, Senegal. Reduced to ten men during the last ten minutes, the Young Elephants held firm (0-0) before making the difference in the penalty shootout (5-3), in a tense match played at the Stade Municipal de Berrechid, Morocco.
Their next opponent? The host country, who authoritatively dispatched South Africa (3-1) and will attempt to reach the final in front of their home crowd.
With Morocco, Burkina Faso, Mali, and Ivory Coast still in the running, this CAN U17 showcases the future faces of African football. The semi-finals promise to be fiercely contested, rich in emotions and promises for the future.
