With less than three months to go before the kick-off of the African Nations Championship, CHAN 2025, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially announced the list of central referees chosen for the event.

The tournament, reserved for players competing in their domestic leagues, will take place from August 2 to 30 in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Among the 29 main referees selected, three nations stand out with two representatives each: Algeria, Morocco, and Burkina Faso. This recognition highlights the quality of their refereeing schools.

Lotfi Bekouassa and Houssem Benyahia will represent Algeria, while Morocco will be represented by Kech Chaf Mustapha and Hamza El Fariq, who is also assigned as a VAR referee for the Club World Cup. For Burkina Faso, Jean Ouattara and Vincent Kaboré complete this trio of countries with double representation.

CAF has ensured balanced representation, including a main referee from nations such as Cameroon, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, DR Congo, Mali, Zimbabwe, and Madagascar.
