On Wednesday, March 26, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) officially unveiled the financial rewards for clubs participating in the Club World Cup, which will take place in the United States from June 15 to July 13, 2025, in a groundbreaking format.

Club World Cup 2025: How will the financial rewards be distributed?

The prize amounts are as follows:

  • $9.55 million for participation (specifically for African clubs).
  • $2 million for a win in a group match.
  • $1 million for a draw in a group match.
  • $7.5 million for reaching the round of 16.
  • $13.125 million for reaching the quarter-finals.
  • $21 million for reaching the semi-finals.
  • $30 million for the runner-up.
  • $40 million for the champion.

FIFA clarified in its statement that the total financial prizes amount to $1 billion, divided into two main categories: $475 million for sporting performance and $525 million for club participation.

FIFA also specified that participation bonuses will be distributed differently according to continents. European clubs will receive amounts ranging from $12.81 million to $38.19 million, while teams from Africa, CONCACAF (North, Central America, and Caribbean), and Asia will receive $9.55 million.

Africa will be represented by four renowned clubs: Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), Al Ahly (Egypt), Wydad Casablanca (Morocco), and Espérance (Tunisia).
