🔴 Elite One Cameroon: a third club withdraws from the championship (Official)
The Cameroonian first division championship is experiencing an unprecedented crisis. This Tuesday, Yong Sports Academy (YOSA) of Bamenda became the third club to officially withdraw from Elite One, following Djiko FC and Bamboutos de Mbouda.
The bottom club of the standings has informed its players of its refusal to play upcoming matches, including the one scheduled for Sunday against Gazelle FA for the 22nd day.
The club justifies its decision by the non-payment of promised subsidies by the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot), presided over by Samuel Eto'o:
"All teams have received funds, except YOSA. As long as we have not received what is owed to us, we will no longer play," specified the club's management, while maintaining training sessions.
An unprecedented crisis!
It should be recalled that earlier in April, Djiko FC notably accused Fecafoot of embezzlement, biased arbitration, and contractual breaches. Bamboutos FC also cited delays in bonuses and unpaid revenues.
YOSA's announcement, which seems to suggest a selective distribution of funds, casts doubt on previous versions and heightens suspicions of internal dysfunctions.
The situation now requires urgent attention…
