2026 World Cup: DR Congo officially files complaint with FIFA!

Just days before the 2026 World Cup, thousands of Congolese fans could ultimately be shut out of the tournament due to US travel restrictions.

The Congolese Football Federation has officially contacted FIFA regarding the situation of DR Congo supporters ahead of the 2026 World Cup. Because of travel restrictions imposed by US authorities in response to the Ebola outbreak, many Congolese fans are currently unable to travel to the United States.

FECOFA president Véron Mosengo-Omba raised the issue during a videoconference with FIFA, requesting that the global governing body consider refunding tickets already purchased by Congolese supporters.

This request specifically concerns PMA tickets, reserved for official fans of qualified nations. According to several sources, FIFA has agreed to review this exceptional request, even though current regulations typically only allow ticket resale through its official platform.
