2026 World Cup: Ousmane Dembélé sets his sights
Ousmane Dembélé Ballon d'Or 2025

Winner of the 2025 Ballon d'Or, Ousmane Dembélé has set his next goal with the French national team.

Even though he lifted the World Cup with Les Bleus in 2018, Ousmane Dembélé is well aware that he has never truly shined for France. The Parisian forward even lost his starting place early on at Russia 2018. His 2022 final against Argentina, cut short by Didier Deschamps before halftime, remains one of his greatest frustrations.

In recent hours, the Paris Saint-Germain star spoke candidly during an interview with Téléfoot, where he announced his determination to take the next step with Les Bleus. "One of my goals this season is to perform at my very best for the national team and, above all, to help France win trophies," he revealed, with the 2026 World Cup "which will be hugely important" on his mind. "It's been in the back of my mind for far too long. We're waiting for it, and we'll prepare thoroughly for this World Cup," he added.
