A Brazilian club makes a tempting offer to Cristiano Ronaldo (Marca)
According to Spanish sources, one of Brazil’s biggest clubs has entered into serious negotiations to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Al-Nassr.
The Spanish newspaper Marca, through its editor-in-chief José Félix Díaz Fernández, reveals that the Portuguese superstar has yet to extend his contract with the Saudi club.
Meanwhile, a Brazilian club has reportedly submitted a very attractive financial offer, matching what he currently earns in the Saudi Pro League.
Still according to Félix Díaz, investors are eager to see an iconic figure like Ronaldo bolster the Brazilian league. Al-Nassr’s recent elimination from the AFC Champions League is said to have affected the player, who could now make an exceptional appearance at the Club World Cup. With four Brazilian clubs set to compete in the tournament, the prospect of a transfer is gaining credibility. “We’ll have to wait and see,” he concludes.
Al-Nassr under pressure: Ronaldo demands reinforcements to stay
Félix Díaz also notes that Cristiano Ronaldo has requested that the club’s management recruit top-tier local and foreign players, on par with those at Al-Hilal, Al-Ahli, or Al-Ittihad, as a condition for considering a contract extension.
As a reminder, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, now 40, sees his contract expire at the end of the 2024-2025 season. No final agreement has yet been reached regarding his future with Al-Nassr.
