The Iranian Football Federation is looking to organize a friendly match against Cameroon. Negotiations are currently underway with Fecafoot, and the game could take place during the international break in November 2025.

According to Cameroonian local media and several sources, Iran has been pushing for some time to play Cameroon in a friendly during the upcoming international window scheduled for November. This initiative comes from the Persians, who have already qualified for the 2026 World Cup and are eager to test themselves against the Indomitable Lions as part of their preparations for the tournament co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

On Fecafoot's side, there's clear interest in the proposal. An Iran-Cameroon matchup would give the African side a chance to face a team already booked for the 2026 World Cup—a high-quality tactical and strategic test. Marc Brys' squad currently sits second in Group D after the opening rounds of World Cup qualifiers, with every chance to secure their ticket in the upcoming fixtures.

Moreover, taking on Iran would also serve as valuable preparation for the Indomitable Lions ahead of the 2025 AFCON in Morocco, which kicks off on December 21, 2025.
