Rumors have once again stirred up the Moroccan football scene in recent days. Several sources reported that the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) had received an official letter from the Argentine Federation, proposing to organize a friendly match between the Atlas Lions and the Albiceleste next October.

The Moroccan website Journal Sport published this information on Tuesday, stating that Argentina had suggested holding the match in October 2025, with March 2026 offered as an alternative date if the first window proved unavailable.

However, this rumor was quickly denied by leading Moroccan media outlets. Both Al Mountakhab and Hespress newspapers refuted the existence of any official correspondence from the Argentine Federation.

According to Al Mountakhab, citing a well-informed source, the FRMF has not received any official proposal regarding a potential match against Argentina. The outlet claims that the circulated reports are nothing but pure, unfounded speculation.

Hespress echoed the same sentiment, quoting a federation official who confirmed that no contact or agreement had been established with the Argentine side. He suggested that this rumor might have originated from certain intermediaries specializing in organizing international friendlies, possibly seeking to exert pressure or serve private interests.

In summary, the possibility of a friendly showdown between Messi and the Atlas Lions currently has no official basis and seems to be more of a media fantasy than a concrete project.
