Abdelli sends a message to Petkovic ahead of Algeria's June training camp!
Hamad Abdelli, attacking midfielder for Angers SCO, has sent an optimistic message to the Algerian national team—especially to its coach, Swiss tactician Vladimir Petkovic—ahead of the squad's scheduled June training camp. This gathering will serve as preparation for two friendlies against Rwanda and Sweden.
Despite fierce competition in the Fennecs' midfield, Abdelli, who ranks as the third-best dribbler in the French league this season, remains confident and determined to soon represent Algeria on the international stage.
Hamad Abdelli: "I really hope to be on the Greens' list in June!"
In an interview with La Gazette du Fennec after the final Ligue 1 match between Lyon and Angers, he stated:
"I'm eagerly awaiting the call-up. If it comes, I'm ready to seize my opportunity and prove my value on the field. I only ask for a few minutes of play—the rest, I'll take care of."
He added: "These two friendlies will be an excellent test. We're aiming for victory against Rwanda and want to show a strong image against Sweden."
Finally, Abdelli expressed his excitement at the prospect of reconnecting with Algerian supporters:
"Our fans impress us every time; they're always there, pushing us toward victory."
To date, Abdelli has made 106 appearances for Angers in Ligue 1, scoring 18 goals and providing 6 assists.
