Abdoulie Manneh: transfer to Olympiacos falls through?

Abdoulie Manneh's Greek dream is taking longer to come true. The Gambian forward, who was reportedly on the verge of joining Olympiacos, has seen his transfer stalled.

With 7 goals and 4 assists in 20 Allsvenskan matches, Abdoulie Manneh had caught the attention of several foreign clubs. A deal had even been reached with Olympiacos, involving his purchase and an immediate loan back to Mjällby until the end of the season. The player had already flown to Athens for his medical examination.

But according to Greek journalist Nikos Kotsis and Sportbladet, things are getting complicated. The press is reporting issues detected during the medical examinations. This claim was immediately denied by Hasse Larsson, Mjällby’s sporting director:

He passed his medical with flying colors. The problem is with his personal contract, nothing else.

So, Abdoulie Manneh’s transfer to Olympiacos is not completely off the table just yet. But uncertainty remains.
