The Fennecs' coach, Vladimir Petkovic, relied on 4 players from the Algiers academy during the last match against Botswana, counting for the 5th day of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
These include right-back Youcef Atal, central defender Ramy Bensebaini, as well as defensive midfielders Hichem Boudaoui and Adem Zorgane.

Even the double scorer Mohamed El Amine Amoura was very close to joining Paradou, but was ultimately not retained by the academy's coaches who deemed him too lightweight to join the training center.
An exceptional success for the Paradou club, which has focused on training young players as its main sporting strategy.
Boulbina is making his mark
Another gem of Paradou could join the national team in the coming months, namely the young winger Adil Boulbina. The 21-year-old has made waves in the Algerian championship by scoring 15 goals and providing 4 assists in 18 matches played.
