After a failed season, Mané sharply criticizes Al-Nassr supporters!
Following a hugely disappointing season for Al-Nassr, who failed to qualify for the next AFC Champions League, Senegalese superstar Sadio Mané (33) launched scathing criticism at the club’s supporters over the poor performances and negative results that plagued "Al-Alami" throughout the campaign.
This reaction came after Al-Nassr’s 2-3 defeat to Al-Fateh on the final day of the Roshn Pro League, leaving the team in third place with 70 points.
Speaking after the match, Mané expressed his deep disappointment: “This season has been tough on every level. It’s absolutely essential to find radical solutions to improve the team’s performance in the future.”
He added: “This was a real shock for the club, the fans, and the players. We need to rethink our entire approach if we want to compete with the big teams and win trophies.”
The former Liverpool and Bayern Munich star underlined that the support from the fans was not up to standard. According to him, the players cannot carry the burden of poor results alone, and the fans’ role is crucial in motivating the team. He declared: “The fans must take their share of responsibility and be more present and enthusiastic at matches, because I clearly noticed a significant drop in their support during some games.”
In conclusion, Mané insisted on the importance of unwavering fan presence: “If the club wants to return to greatness, its supporters must stand by its side without fail.”
Sadio Mané targeted by Fenerbahçe
Meanwhile, Turkish media report that Fenerbahçe are looking to sign Sadio Mané in the upcoming summer transfer window. Head coach José Mourinho is keen to bolster his squad ahead of next season’s UEFA Champions League campaign.
This season, Mané featured in 47 matches across all competitions, netting 18 goals and providing 14 assists, remaining a key player for Al-Nassr despite the disappointing results.
