Ahead of the Inter Miami clash, what's bothering Al Ahly's Egyptian fans?

A state of general anxiety has gripped the Egyptian Al Ahly delegation ahead of facing Inter Miami at dawn on 15 June at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the first round of the group stage.

The Red Eagles' loss to Mexico's Pachuca raised a lot of questions, especially after the arrival of Spanish coach Jose Rivero from Orlando Pirates.

What is the real concern for Al Ahly's coaching staff?

According to press reports, the injury suffered by Nejc Gradisar, who left the second half of the Pachuca match with a minor muscle injury, is expected to undergo a medical examination this evening before the start of the tournament to determine his fitness.

Sources talk about the player's technical readiness

Press sources close to the Egyptian survivor speak of him being named as the Reds' main striker if Gradisar does not reach fitness, as Palestinian striker Wissam Abu Ali has not yet arrived at the team and is due to arrive on 11 June after playing two matches with his country's national team, the Palestinian national team.

The same source added that the concern is not limited to the offensive line only, but the Al-Ahly coaching staff's concern is compounded by the noticeable decline in the level of the defence.

The source confirmed that Spanish coach Jose Rivero held an emergency meeting with his technical team to review what can be done about these issues.
