Akram Tawfik set for Qatar move

It’s now official: Akram Tawfik is set to close his chapter with Al Ahly. The 27-year-old Egyptian international has reached an agreement with Al-Shamal SC, a club competing in the Qatari league. The midfielder will officially join his new team at the end of the season, in July 2025.

According to Transfermarkt, the player’s current market value is estimated at 1 million euros. The transfer was reportedly facilitated, according to a source cited by YallaKora, by some clever “tricks” behind the scenes, though no further details were disclosed.

Still under contract with Al Ahly, Akram Tawfik was considered a key piece in the Red and Whites’ midfield. But the lure of Qatar, combined with a tempting offer, ultimately tipped the scales. The official announcement is now awaited.
