Al Ahly Double Trezequet’s Fine After Penalty Dispute in Club World Cup

Al Ahly have imposed hefty fine on Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet after violating team rules during their Club World cup opener against Inter Miami.

What Happened?

Trezeguet one of the senior captains at Al Ahly took penalty during the match despite not being designated to do so. According to the pre agreed order, Wessam Abou Ali was the first choice taker followed by Ahmed Mostafa Zizo.

Fine Doubled After Khatib’s Intervention

Originally fined 500000 egyptian pound, the punishment was doubled to 1 million egyptian pound after club president Mahmoud El Khatib discussed the issue with sporting director Mohamed Youssef.

"As team captain, Trezequet must set example and fully comply with team protocols" source told Kooora.

Trezequet's reportedly accepted the disciplinary decision and issued official apology to both the coaching staff and his teammates.
