Al Ahly secured a valuable point on Saturday, April 12 against the leaders Pyramids, thanks to a crucial goal by Ahmed Reda scored in stoppage time (96th minute). This clash on the second day of the final phase of the Egyptian championship ended in a draw (1-1).

Blow on the left flank... and Maâloul lurking?

The "Red Devil" lost two key players during this encounter: Karim El Dabbes and Yahia Attiyat Allah, both forced off due to injuries. This situation might pave the way for the return of Tunisian international Ali Maâloul to the starting lineup.

According to reliable sources, El Dabbes is suffering from an ankle bruise, while Attiyat Allah has a muscular injury. After the match, coach Marcel Koller spoke about the situation:

"I do not yet know the final diagnosis. Attiyat Allah has a muscular injury, while Dabbes has a significant hematoma, probably from a contact late in the first half. We are waiting for the test results to evaluate their availability. The decision regarding Maâloul will depend on these factors."

According to Youm7, Ali Maâloul, absent from recent matches for physical reasons, could return in the upcoming games. The technical staff has started preparing him for the forthcoming challenges, but his possible inclusion in the starting eleven remains at the discretion of the Swiss coach.

Two major fixtures for Al Ahly

The schedule looks busy for Al Ahly, who is set to play two crucial matches. The first will see them face Pharco next Tuesday as part of the third day of the Egyptian Capital Cup. The second, much more anticipated, will take place against South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns on April 18 or 19 (date yet to be confirmed) for the first leg of the CAF Champions League 2024-2025 semi-finals.
