Al Ahly’s New Era: Riveiro to Replace Koller and Lead Team in FIFA Club World Cup

Al Ahly are on the verge of appointing Spanish tactician Jose Riveiro as their new head coach following his sudden departure from South African side Orlando Pirates on Monday.

Backroom Team Revealed

Riveiro is expected to bring experienced technical staff with him. Sergio Almenara was his long time assistant but left for family reasons and now works with Finland’s national team.

Carlos Nodar Paz's filled dual roles, first as fitness coach and then as assistant after Almenara’s exit. Riveiro also hopes to lure Valencia goalkeeper coach Marcos Abad to join him at Al Ahly.

A Bold New Era

According to African football insider Micky Junior, Riveiro's already signed with Al Ahly. Negotiations reportedly began in Feb and the Spaniard is set to lead the red devils in the FIFA Club World cup next month.

Riveiro will become Africa’s highest paid coach, signing 2 year deal with option for 3rd. He replaces Marcel Koller who exited after the team’s CAF Champions league semi final elimination.

With strong credentials and winning mentality, Riveiro now faces the challenge of sustaining Al Ahly’s continental dominance.
