The Al Ahly club management has decided to increase the financial penalty imposed on its star player, Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, raising it to one million Egyptian pounds (approximately 20,000 US dollars).

This decision comes after a breach of internal regulations regarding the order of penalty takers during the Club World Cup opener against Inter Miami.

The match, which ended in a goalless draw, was marked by a tense moment: after Ahmed Sayed Zizo won a penalty, a dispute broke out between Trezeguet, Wissam Abu Ali, and Zizo over who should take the spot-kick. This disagreement led to a missed attempt, as Trezeguet violated the established order.

Assistant coach Emad El Nahhas reminded everyone that the team has a clear penalty-taking hierarchy: Wissam Abu Ali is first, followed by Trezeguet, then Zizo, Imam Ashour, Mohamed Magdy "Afsha", and finally Hamdi Fathi.

This sanction underlines the club’s determination to maintain discipline within the squad, especially since Trezeguet, as the captain, is expected to set an example.

It’s worth noting that Al Ahly is gearing up to face Brazilian side Palmeiras next Thursday in the second round of the group stage, aiming to bounce back after their draw with Inter Miami.
