Algerian press reacts to the heavy defeat of "Sanafir" against Berkane!
The Algerian press has strongly reacted to the heavy defeat of CS Constantine against Renaissance Sportive de Berkane, this Sunday, at the municipal stadium of Berkane, in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals (2024/2025 season). A one-sided match, dominated from start to finish by the Moroccans, who won decisively with a score of 4-0.
Daily El Khabar headlined: "CS Constantine jeopardizes its chances of reaching the CAF Cup final."
Meanwhile, Echorouk highlighted: "CS Constantine pays the price for lack of African experience."
As for Ennahar, the newspaper chose a more direct tone with: "CSC suffers a heavy defeat against RS Berkane in the CAF Cup," illustrating its article with an image captioned: "Pale face."
RS Berkane strikes hard and takes a serious step towards the final
RS Berkane left no chance to their opponent of the day, winning 4-0 thanks to goals from Youssef Mehri in the opening seconds, Paul Bassène (21st), then Oussama Lamlioui, who scored twice (54th and 90+3).
In a press conference, coach Moïne Chaâbani praised his players' commitment: "We dominated thanks to our realism, our concentration, and the respect we showed towards our opponent."
He added: "The quick goal allowed us to take control of the match from the start and destabilize the opposing team's plans."
A difficult but not impossible comeback for the "Sanafir"
