Bafana Bafana winger's brother reveals his approach to Amakhosi

Fresh reports have emerged linking Kaizer Chiefs with a move for Aris Limassol and Bafana Bafana winger Mihlali Mayambela. The 28-year-old, originally from Khayelitsha, is reportedly considering a return to South Africa after spending nearly a decade in Europe.

Sources indicate that Mayambela, who previously featured in Chiefs’ youth system at U-15 level, is open to rejoining the club. As per iDiski Times journalist Sinethemba Makonco, the player has expressed strong interest in the potential switch.

This follows recent speculation surrounding Chiefs’ pursuit of high-profile attacking reinforcements.

According to press reports, the player wants to return to his hometown in South Africa to complete the rest of his career there after a decade of playing in Europe, and he is now 30 years old.

Before moving to Djurgården in Sweden at the age of 18, the standout winger spent his early career in the Motsepe Foundation Championship with the Cape Town All Stars.

Currently in Europe completing his UEFA A coaching license, the elder Mayambela shared the iDiski Times report alongside a throwback image of Mihlali wearing Kaizer Chiefs colors during his U-15 days, seemingly endorsing the speculated return.
