Anderlecht bets on the future with Abdel Camara
At just 15 years old, Abdel Camara has taken a major step in his budding career. The promising midfielder has signed his first professional contract with RSC Anderlecht, the club he joined back in 2018. The deal runs until 2028, a clear sign of the faith the Brussels club’s sporting management has in him.
Of Guinean descent, Abdel Camara has grown up immersed in football. He is following in the footsteps of his father, Lanfia Camara, a former Guinean international who earned 14 caps and played for several Belgian clubs. It's a legacy he seems determined to honor. Camara was first trained at Crossing de Schaerbeek before joining Anderlecht’s U9 squad. Since then, he has steadily risen through the ranks, building a solid reputation among the brightest prospects at the academy. His younger brother, also signed by the Mauves, continues the family story within the club.
With this signing, Anderlecht continues its strategy of nurturing local young talent. For Abdel Camara, this marks the beginning of a new chapter—a journey many hope will be as dazzling as it is precocious.
