Having transferred from Standard Liège to Anderlecht, Ilay Camara will have to wait before making his much-anticipated debut with the Purple and White. A disruptive injury is hampering his pre-season preparations.

The 22-year-old midfielder is suffering from a muscle injury that will keep him sidelined for two to three weeks. According to DH and Het Nieuwsblad, he is set to miss the start of the 2025-2026 season.

The Senegal international will not feature in the two-legged tie against BK Häcken in the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round, nor in the first two matches of the Jupiler Pro League against Westerlo and Cercle Brugge.

It's worth noting that the former RWDM player had already featured for Anderlecht in a pre-season friendly against Raków Częstochowa (2-2) on July 12.
