Another blow for Al Ahly at the Club World Cup!

The Egyptian side Al Ahly suffers another setback ahead of their clashes against Palmeiras and Porto in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup hosted in the United States. The club has announced that winger Taher Mohamed Taher is out due to injury.

Medical tests have revealed a strain at the quadriceps insertion, officially ruling him out of the next two matches against the Brazilian and Portuguese champions.

This absence adds to the already confirmed injuries of Imam Ashour and Ahmed Nabil "Koka," further complicating the task for head coach Marcel Koller and his staff.

Al Ahly is set to take on Palmeiras on Thursday night in the second round of the group stage, before wrapping up this phase against FC Porto in the early hours of the following Tuesday.

The African representatives kicked off the competition in its new format with a goalless draw (0-0) against Inter Miami, where Taher came on as a second-half substitute.
