LaLiga celebrates African talent as voting opens for the prestigious SPORTY LALIGA MVP award.

La Liga once again celebrates African excellence with the launch of voting for the SPORTY LALIGA MVP 2024/2025. This distinction recognizes the best African player competing in the Spanish championship. The fourth edition spotlights 20 players, including Congolese striker Cédric Bakambu, Nigerians Umar Sadiq and Ikechukwu Uche, Cameroonian Jean Boyomo, and many others.

This award, organized in partnership with Sporty Group—a major player in sports and technology across Africa—aims to highlight the growing impact of African talent in Spanish football. The initiative follows in the footsteps of previous winners such as Iñaki Williams (Ghana, 2024), Samuel Chukwueze (Nigeria, 2023), and Yassine Bounou (Morocco, 2022), all of whom have left their mark on LaLiga with outstanding performances.

The winner will be determined through a two-part voting process. A jury of 25 renowned African sports journalists will cast their votes, while fans from sub-Saharan Africa can vote via the MiLiga Fan Zone platform until May 14. The final results will be unveiled on May 25, coinciding with Africa Day and the final matchday of the 2024/2025 LaLiga season.
